His research interests focus on air quality, particulate matter characterization, exposure assessment, health impact assessment (HIA) and health risk assessment (HRA) of air pollutants, and use of artificial intelligence and remote sensing in predicting pollution-health outcomes. Prof. Kermani’s research skills include advanced air sampling and measurement, modeling and GIS-based analysis, toxicology and epidemiology of air pollutants, application of AI and machine learning in environmental health, and interdisciplinary collaboration across environmental science and public health.
