Dr. Pinar Karagoz is a highly accomplished academic whose career is marked by robust education, rich professional experience, strong research interests, well-developed research skills, and multiple recognitions. She earned her Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Middle East Technical University (METU), Turkey; she also completed her Master’s and Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering at METU. She has strong research skills in statistical learning, sequential data mining, graph and hyper-graph modeling, stream and event detection, Natural Language Processing (NLP) methods (e.g., irony detection, named entity recognition), trust-aware recommendation, optimization algorithms, and evaluation of algorithms under real world datasets. Dr. Pinar Karagoz has authored 2 documents, 4 Citations, 2 h‐index in some smaller contexts but in larger Scopus / WoS metrics she has many more (Scopus h-index ≈ 23; WoS h-index ≈ 20) and is widely cited (Scopus citations > 1600; WoS > 1100).
