Dr. Roland Bruderer is an internationally recognized proteomics scientist and mass spectrometry expert with over a decade of leadership experience in advanced LC-MS technology development for biomedical research and clinical applications. Dr. Roland Bruderer earned his Dr. sc. ETH in Biochemistry, Biophysics, and Molecular Biology from ETH Zurich, where his doctoral research on cell cycle regulation in mammalian cells led to a Nature publication and was honored with the prestigious ETH Medal. He also completed the Zurich Ph.D. Program in Molecular Life Sciences and obtained a Diploma in Biochemistry from ETH Zurich, building a strong interdisciplinary foundation in molecular biology and analytical chemistry. Professionally, Dr. Roland Bruderer has held progressive scientific and leadership roles across academia and industry, including postdoctoral research positions at ETH Zurich and the University of Dundee, where he developed innovative mass spectrometry-based subproteome analysis methods that resulted in both high-impact publications and commercial products. He later served as Senior Scientist at Dualsystems Biotech AG, contributing to affinity purification mass spectrometry platforms for pharmaceutical research. Since joining Biognosys Group, Dr. Roland Bruderer has played a pivotal role in the development and commercialization of cutting-edge proteomics workflows, advancing from Senior Scientist to Principal Scientist, Head of R&D LC-MS and Workflows, and currently Vice President Research and Development for LC-MS and Workflows. His research interests center on quantitative proteomics, SWATH mass spectrometry, immunopeptidomics, large-scale protein identification, and translational proteomics for medicine. Dr. Roland Bruderer possesses advanced research skills in mass spectrometry, proteomics workflow optimization, molecular biology, data-driven LC-MS strategy development, and technology commercialization. He is fluent in English and German and is widely recognized for bridging fundamental research with industrial innovation. His awards and honors include the ETH Medal for outstanding doctoral research, underscoring his scientific excellence and lasting impact on proteomics.
